Now with 40+ Virgin companies worldwide — across industries as varied as travel, telecommunications, space exploration, and more — Richard’s newest adventure is transforming the world of seafaring travel.

Boy George: Singer-Songwriter and Musician
An iconoclast, Boy George is an English superstar. The lead singer of the pop band Culture Club — signed by, you guessed it, Virgin Records in 1981 — he’s also known for his DJing, charity and relief work, and most recently his art. Culture Club was the first group after The Beatles to have three Top 10 hits in the US from a debut album, and Boy George himself is absolutely Top 10 in the Virgin family’s hearts.

Nirmal Saverimuttu: CEO of Virgin Voyages
One of Virgin Voyages’ founding members, Nirmal knows the Virgin business inside and out. Before he came on board to help develop ship-to-shoreside operations and oversee a brilliant (and global) Sailor experience, he put in time at Virgin America and Virgin Hotels. A Wharton MBA grad turned Florida resident, Nirmal is a versatile leader whose savvy and responsiveness is guiding Virgin Voyages into our next brilliant era.

Jamila Gilbert
Virgin Galactic astronaut. A proud descendent of Purépechan-Mexican ancestry, Jamila is the third Galactic woman to head to space, and is among the first 100 women astronauts in history.

David Tait
Virgin Atlantic. David joined Richard in late 1983 to craft the scrappy business plan for what would become Virgin Atlantic Airways. A career “airline guy,” he’s also an award-winning travel columnist and bestselling author.

Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Management, Virgin Galactic. Once a member of a search & rescue crew in the North Sea, Will became an early member of the Virgin Group team in 1987, leaving his imprint across the portfolio — from Virgin Rail to Virgin Galactic.
