Ready-to-Sail is required information for every Sailor in a reservation and includes the following:  

• Legal name 
• Date of birth 
• Nationality
• Passport
• Email address
• Visa (if required)
• At some point, we will need proof of your vaccine card, but we’ll expand on that more shortly

Sailors can add/confirm Ready-to-Sail information through any of the following avenues:

The Band is your room key, wallet, bar and restaurant tab all in one — with just one, simple tap. When you arrive at the port and check-in at the terminal, you’ll be able to pick up The Band and start your vacation with digital (sea) breeze.

All Sailors must be at least 18 years old and fully vaccinated with a WHO or FDA approved vaccine against COVID-19.

To be fully vaccinated, you may need two shots of (some of the) COVID-19 vaccines:

• Two shots: If you get a COVID-19 vaccine that requires two shots, you are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after your second shot. Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Oxford/Astrazeneca COVID-19 vaccines require two shots
• One shot: If you get a COVID-19 vaccine that requires one shot, you are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after your shot. Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine only requires one shot

If it has been less than two weeks since your shot, or if you still need to get your second shot, you are considered not fully vaccinated and therefore will not be able to sail. 

Please head to our Virgin Voyages App to complete the health-check form at least 24 hours before embarkation. If this is not complete, we cannot let you board the ship.

With the advancement in travel and access to COVID testing facilities, Sailors will now be required to arrive at the terminal with a negative privately administered RT-PCR Test (or similar NAAT test) or Laboratorial Rapid Antigen test that was administered within 72 hours of boarding. This will not only allow you to get tested at your convenience but also greatly reduce the time you have to spend in the terminal before hopping on our beautiful lady ship.

For UK residents only sailing on Valiant Lady we are currently able to offer a FREE at home option with our approved testing partner. Details will be emailed to you in advance of your sailing. For other locations and sailings, we will update as details are available.

We will be accepting the following tests that have been supervised/administered by a health professional – doctor, nurse, clinician, pharmacy technician, or live telehealth professional:

• PCR: A polymerase chain reaction molecular test, commonly called a “PCR test” or “NAAT test”
• Antigen: An antigen test, also called a rapid antigen test or a lateral flow test

On your embarkation date, Sailors are to bring any of the following accepted formats of testing documentation showing a negative test result: 

• Printed document
• An email
• PDF or Image of a Certified result (not a cartridge or lollypop image)
• Telehealth/Clinicians Application notification

The following test formats will not be accepted:

• A handwritten doctor’s notes
• An image of a test cartridge
• A physical test cartridge or “lollypop”

UK Residents:
As mentioned above, Sailors who are residents in the UK traveling on Valiant Lady may take advantage of our FREE at-home test from our partners at NHP Group — an exclusive, Virgin Voyages approved partner. Look out for the email in advance of your sailing. You will need to bring this completed test with you.

If for whatever reason you forget, misplace the results, or provide a test that does not meet local regulations, we will be offering a limited number of tests at the terminal for £40 GBP ($54 USD) per test, per Sailor.

Please be mindful that all Sailors should still arrive at the terminal during their scheduled arrival time slot. Should you arrive early, you will need to wait outside the terminal until your slotted time.

Our biggest priority is keeping our Crew and Sailors healthy, and we want you to feel confident when you set sail with us. In order to do so, here’s what we’re doing and what we’ll need from you:

• Only fully vaccinated Sailors will be allowed to board — and your boarding date must be a full two weeks after your final shot in order to do so
• You must have your proof of vaccination (including brand and dates of doses) with you in order to come aboard
• We will have to deny boarding to any Sailor who has a positive COVID test result
• We will deny boarding to any Sailor whose response is “yes" at boarding to any COVID related questions 
• We will deny boarding if a member traveling in your group has a positive COVID test result
• We aim to sail with our entire crew fully vaccinated
• Our Crew is tested every 2 weeks per CDC standards
• Our Crew will wear masks, and we strongly advise that Sailors do so as well
• A Future Voyage Credit will be issued to Sailors who are denied boarding because of a positive COVID test result, or who have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive

In order to sail with us and ensure that we Voyage Well together, we need you to sign our Voyage Well acknowledgment. Head over to our Virgin Voyages App to sign the acknowledgment form.

All our Sailors are accountable for making plans after disembarkation from the ship — they must get all the appropriate tests and medical clearances that their home country requires prior to flying home.

When you arrive at the port, you and your fellow Sailors will need to bring the following items in order to board the ship:

• Valid government-issued passport
• Proof of vaccination (including brand and dates of doses)

While we’ll leave the creative packing choices up to you, there are a few things we already have on board that you won’t need to bring along.

  • We're already taking care of the Crew. The tips are on us
• Hairdryer
  • We've got you (and your hair) covered there
• Power adapters
  • These are already provided in your cabin and/or suites
• Toiletries
  • Your cabin's well stocked with these
• Data roaming worries
  • There's complimentary WiFi on board, so you don’t need to check with your provider about data roaming charges. Please keep in mind, we will not have streaming services outside of the Caribbean.

Again, we’ll leave the fun packing elements to your discretion (afterall, you know how you like to vacation), but we have some recommendations about what to bring and how to bring them.

What to put in your carry-on:

• Your passport
• Your vaccine card
• Anything you want to use right away. Swimwear, running shoes, party dress...

Suggestions for things to bring in your suitcase:

On the day of your sail, please arrive at the terminal at your selected arrival slot. You will be expected to provide a negative COVID test result taken 72 hours prior to your arrival time. Once your result is verified, you’ll then check in, receive your Band, and board the ship.
